L.Y.Oliver 林乐洋 is an aspiring Singaporean singer-songwriter. The creative side of him enjoys songwriting, graphic and website designing, photography and more. Started learning piano at five, Oliver has achieved both ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Practical and Theory. He joined his school's String Orchestra and picked up the violin at 13 while is currently learning the guitar. Written his first song at 13, Oliver started off with instrumentals before progressing to lyrical music. Oliver came in fifth with his song《孝顺》(Filial Piety) when he first participated in a music competition National Schools XinYao Singing and Songwriting Competition in 2018. His winning song was announced to be one of Singapore's new generation XinYao songs and was added into the digital XinKongXia album. Since then, Oliver has participated in many other songwriting competitions such as Singapore Youth Festival Songwriting Competition and The Dream Composition while clinching top 48 among 303 in SG:SW 2019 Singapore Nationwide Mandarin-Pop Song Writing Festival. Having requested by his school to write a School Community and Graduation Song, his song《筑梦》(Weaving Dreams) is also well-received by many. In 2021, Oliver again participated in the National Schools XinYao Singing and Songwriting Competition and won Merit Award with his song《想》(Wish). Today, L.Y.Oliver is a verified music artist with his songs available across the world on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and NetEase Cloud Music. From releasing original bilingual music to designing his Music Webpage, Music Video and outreach posts, all creative works published under L.Y.Oliver are meticulously planned, directed, designed and posted by Oliver himself. Oliver is determined to pursue his passion for music as he constantly seeks opportunities to improve his works and expand his reach.
